Not sure how to describe this book. I felt it was rather long and at times (far too many) lacked a goal/point. It spanned the entire lifetime of the heroine. Was it to show how not to be as naive and ignorant as she was in making choices? Was it to show how life can be so very complicated and unpredictable? If so, both were achieved with unsatisfying results. At the end, it was unclear whether she was wiser for her experiences or just bitter. After finishing the book, I was left with feeling like, 'What?'.
