The entire book takes place over one month's time and basically gives us the daily play-by-play of your high school drama, albeit for rich boarding school kids. I'm sorry, but I just could not appreciate it. The only significant tie-in to the first book was the appearance of Vincent at one of B's surf tour stops that Keatyn sneaks off to in order to see B. By then, Keatyn is told she can no longer return to her old life and to make the best of her new one.
I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it spanned a longer stretch of time so there could have been more opportunities for "big-picture" reminders of the reason for Keatyn's new life and to move the plot forward. Yes, there is the occasional texting with her family and B to connect to her previous life, but basically we are treated to the same high school drama. Same circus; different clowns. Sure hope the next book gets back on track.
